[CS] ST 20: Society Ara

Okay, first things first: while I ordinarily adore supernatural things (I don't think I have a single magic-less world XD), I am not actually very familiar with the inspirations for the Society of Constellations AU. ;3; So if something doesn't make sense or steps on someone's toes, please let me know so I can fix it!

Also, I was really tired when I wrote this, so details may change... mostly to add things.

When she was four, Eleanor Bailey was kidnapped by a group of "religious scholars." In reality, the group was more like a coalition of magic-scientists looking to explore the qualities of divine power. The leader of the group, known to most only by his code name of Crowley, claimed he had figured out how to create "artificial angels" through rituals and infusions of heavenly power. Several other little girls were subject to his experiments, with varying levels of success; however, only Eleanor was able to fully absorb the magic called onto her, and she was the only successful product of her "batch." When the shimmering blue wings manifested from her back, she was granted the code name Ara, for the Altar constellation. The coalition had found their weapon against the supernatural evils of the world.

Ara would spend the next 14 years of her life being trained in the ways of the coalition, learning to harness her new powers and doing her part against the evils. As time went on, it was discovered that her powers had more to do with warding, healing, purification, and consecration than any actual offense; the higher-ups held a discussion and determined that they had not transformed a human into an angel. Instead, they had merely made a human into a suitable vessel for divine power. They elected not to inform Ara of the truth.

When Ara seemed established enough with her powers, she was presented to the Society of Constellations as a potential member. Her defensive powers gained her a swift acceptance into the Society; when members team up for missions, she can often be found at the "base" for the mission, providing a safe haven for the others as they come and go. Even off missions, her ability to ward away the supernatural makes her a welcome boon.
